Information about the Episcopacy
Episcopacy: Historical, Practical, Scriptural
In 2007, the Rocky Mountain Regional Council of the Ecumenical Catholic Communion, has been engaged in a dialogue about the episcopacy. A committee was formed and given the task of producing an informational brochure for our four communities. Our prayerful hope is that our people will find this information useful and use these contents as a spring-board for discussion and reflection.
When a community begins to discern the need for an expansion of leadership, they might choose to call a Bishop. After informed and careful discourse should we engage in discernment of whether or not to call a regional Bishop? This discernment might consider the questions of history, theology and practical matters.
